Blue Blood Blues

Dress - Dorothy Perkins
Sandals - River Island
Sunglasses - Accessorize
Flower slides - Crown & Glory

These photos were taken on possibly the hottest day of the year so far after walking about for a few hours which probably isn't the greatest idea but then add in that being pale as a ghost I put on some factor 50, the transparent spray kind, and it wouldn't sink into my skin so became a shiny oily messy. My sister also used it and it didn't do this to her. As my hair was down it touched the oily mess and went all greasy and strange despite having washed it the night before. Never again! I bought the good old fashioned cream sun protection the next day.

The dress is technically a birthday present as I used a voucher. I love the thicker straps and longer length. I often wear leggings under my summer dresses to avoid passer-by getting an eyeful, with this dress I didn't feel the need to. I saw the sandal way back in January in the sale and I bought them (Yes, I'm one of those people!) knowing that come summer I as always I would struggle to fit sandals that weren't completely flat or sky high. Admittedly they aren't the most flattering on my legs, but they are comfortable and at the end of the day that's all you want in shoes!

While taking these photos my labradoodle Jake decided to have a pose as well so I thought I'd share them with you. If you want to see more of him follow me on Instagram where he appears regularly with my labrador Ben.

Payday Wishlist

Why is it the month seems to last forever when you could really do with getting paid? I've been lusting after so many things this month and thought a visual wishlist would be better than a mental one because those tend to get very long very quickly.

1. Floral Top - M&S
If you don't often venture into M&S then it may surprise you that they aren't just good for basics and lingerie but dare I say it on trend items. I really loved this top and even had a 20% off voucher, sadly I couldn't justify it so close yet so far to payday on the rail it stayed. Let's hope another 20% off event happens soon.

2. Grey Fade Sunglasses - Oliver Bonas
My current sunglasses are black with white polka dots which would be nice to switch up for a coloured pair when I'm already wearing a lot of patterns and/or black. I want to get a pair without those plastic bits that sit on your nose (anyone know the technical term?), they seem make much more obvious sunglasses marks on my nose when I'm wearing make-up.

3. NYX Butter Gloss & Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick
I've been wanting to try NYX products for a long time. I had heard that Next stocked it when I was in Glasgow I looked for it in the Argyle Street store and couldn't find any. However on the NYX site it says was stocked in that store. Maybe it was in a hidden corner that I missed. If anyone knows for sure where stocks it let me know. I was excited about the Bourjois Velvets before release, I never took the plunge as I just was undecided on the colour. I have since decided on the shade Pink Pong after I saw Vivianna Does Make Up wearing it in a video. It'll be bought the day my pay comes in. It also happens to be on 3 for 2 in Superdrug which is a dangerous thing.

4. Denim Spotted Skater Dress - Doll & Frog
What can I say I like polka dots and skater dresses! It's much more summery than my curent white and black spotted combos. Come the colder months I think it will be easy to layer up with some knitwear and boots.

5.  Ocean Triangle Necklace - Oliver Bonas
I most definitely do not need another necklace and with a £18 price tag I probably won't be getting it as it pains me to pay that much for a casual necklace. It was the lilac and gold that caught my attention. I love the simple design and the long length. If it hits the sale then I'll probably be persuaded.

6. Cherry Print Sweetheart Dress - Dorothy Perkins
I've always loved those amazing 50's cherry print dresses with the insanely puffed out skirts, not something I can get away wearing often in my little town and I never get invited to fancy parties. This little dress from Dorothy Perkins has just the right amount of 50's style to make it unusual and perfect for those sunny days. This will be getting ordered as soon as another discount code is dropped in my inbox, probably along with the dress above too!

7. Tan Strappy Gladiator Sandals - River Island
Sandals seem to be either completely flat or too high, neither of which I find comfortable for walking any distance in even if its around the town. These sandals have the right kind of block heel that to me normal means comfort, and the same reason I often favour brogues. Basically they are pretty much the sandal version of a brogue.

Did any of these catch your eye?

I fight with the moon on occasion, yeah.

Leather Jacket - Red Herring (very old)
Shirt - River Island
Top - diy
Jeans/Jeggings - M&S
Converse
Necklace - Topshop (old)
Bracelets - Accesorize/Electric Daisy

I thought I'd do a quick outfit post of what I wore to a gig at the Oran Mor the other night to see A Plastic Rose. I really liked this outfit but taking photos post gig and a train ride later isn't the best idea. The quality isn't too great as it was just my little Canon compact camera.

I went off jeans for awhile but when found these jeggings I started to like them again and have bought a few pairs of jeans since mostly from M&S too! Good quality, comfy and around the £20 so ticks all my boxes.
I've always loved a checkered shirt and ones like this made from thicker material are perfect for layering at gigs for me. Easy for tying around my bag when it gets too hot but isn't all creased when you put it back on.
You may or may not be aware of my love for The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, but when my t-shirt I bought wasn't fitting anymore I couldn't face not wearing it so I cut the design out of the t-shirt and ironed it on to a cheap sleeves top. I really want to this with other band tees I have that I don't wear due to the fit. They always come is such odd shapes!

A December Wishlist

1. I love the tartan trend that is about at the moment I have only got a shirt and a scarf at the moment but I would really love a dress. I have seen ones I like but nothing I have fell in love with. This dress from River Island changed that instantly, it the little cute collar that makes it different from others I've seen. As it has a high neckline I should really try it on in store but doesn't seem to be in stores near me yet.

2. I already have a pair of Dr Martens shoes and boots so I don't need any but this glittery red pair from Office are amazing. I don't think they will ever be mine at a painful £245. There is also a pair of black boots in a similar style and an even larger price tag of £290!

3. This wooden typewriter key necklace from Ladybird Likes has been on my list for a long time. I always like initial necklaces but find often that the ones with 'C' on them never look as nice as the other letters. This one changed my mind about that.

4. This beautiful snowflake necklace from Pandora caught my eye in a shop window and I think it looks so much better in person. I wish I hadn't already given my boyfriend my list of links for things to buy me gift list cause this would be on it. It goes without saying that it is part of the Christmas collection, if it's caught your eye too then best get it on your lists!

5. A black lace skater dress with sleeves is more difficult to find than you would think! The only reason that this New Look dress isn't mine is that is is almost completely sold out apart from a few sizes as they had a 25% off offer at the weekend. I haven't found it in a store yet but hopefully I will soon.

6. I first saw these on a sales assistant in Topshop and thought they were amazing. I am not sure if I would wear them much but if they go into sale I may need to give in. They are unusual with the holographic effect and would be just add something extra to an outfit.

7. I am in need of a new purse and in my search for one I came across this little canvas pouch from Alphabet Bags it would be good for keeping make up in instead of overloading the inbuilt pockets inside my bags.

 What's on your December wishlist?

Home is wherever I'm with you

Top - Topshop
Skirt - River Island
Shoes - Urban Outfitters
Bag - Accessorize
Necklace - Dorothy Perkins
Bracelet - local Jewellery maker

Another long break between posts, but my laptop which was only bought back in January decided to break and had to be sent away to laptop hospital. This is from when I went to a little local event in a park for the Burns festival. I always loved the way that The Dainty Squid and Wish Wish Wish do their outside outfit shoots, so this was my very first attempt at mine. Obviously there is lighting issues but also bare in mind these were taken on my little Cannon compact.

These photos make me excited to dye my hair this colour again this weekend.  All the items I'm wearing were sale items and all but the skirt are fairly old. The skirt was purchased a few weeks before these were taken. This outfit probably proves how much of a sale fiend I am. The current summer sales have me sucked right in! Does anyone else head straight for the giant sale signs?

Let's start a revolution with our hearts on our sleeves

 Top - Tour merch.
Cardigan - Forever 21+
Skirt - River Island

This is what I wore for a trip to Glasgow way back at the beginning of May when it was still pretty cold, to visit the newly opened Lego shop. The top was bought at a Blood Red Shoes gig last year and I was surprised that a the ladies fit actually fit me as I normally fit that ladies fit are not forgiving of busty gals. I really love the design of it as it is unusual. The cardigan was my first purchase from the new Forever 21 store in Glasgow. I really liked it the first time I saw it but didn't want to pay full price as I rarely do. I managed to grab it in the sale there was only two sizes left I got the smaller one but probably could have got away with a size down, but I do like my knitwear loose fitting.

 Necklace - Pretty Cuckoo
Boots - Topshop

I had been after some casual ankle boots for awhile but hadn't found any at a price I was will to pay. I came across these in the sale at half price and snapped them up along with a dress which I'll show in my next post. It the been a very long time since I bought anything from Topshop, never mind two sale items! Although we are now past boots weather (fingers crossed!) they will get lots of wear when the colder weather returns. We got these cupcakes just outside the Lego store and wanted to include them as they are so good.

I thought I would include my very first attempt at an outside outfit shot. I was trying to be discreet which my boyfriend does not understand the meaning of hence the awkward look while people all walk about! I would appreciate any tips anyone has on outside outfit posts for awkward and shy types.

Coat - Evans (very old)
Bag - Accesorize

I am very excited to be going to see A Plastic Rose again on Saturday so here's one of my favourite songs/videos by them. Do check them out!

Birthday Girl.

Top - New Look
Skirt - River Island
Boots - New Look
Tights - M&S

I turned the grand old age of 23 on Sunday! This is what I wore on Saturday when I went for some drinks. I wanted to feel dressed up a bit but not too much as it was only a pub outing. There are close up of the boots when I last posted them. They were much more comfy with the addition of insoles, so hoping to wear them more now. The top I had been after for a while after seeing it on the New Look website. I never saw it in my local store or the Glasgow one I found it in Bristol. The button was missing off the back so managed to get 10% offI will do a post (or posts) on my trip to bath once I have got all the photos together as some are on my boyfriend's camera.

Ring - Accessorize
Necklace - birthday gift

When I found the ring I needed it as I enjoy owls and cameos so it's mean to be. I thought it was really unusual as well. The Alice in Wonderland  inspired necklace was a gift from my friend and I love it so much! I don't know where she got it from but if anyone is desperate to know I can find out. The detailing is beautiful and is a working watch too. Think she was trying to tell me someone about being on time ;)

These are the first outfit photos I've taken on a self timer as I only have a tiny desk sized tripod but to get the background I like then I need to use my bed and boxes. I thought it was fine until I looked back and some photos were blurry and very squint. I want to figure out a way to get better shots using a tripod. I don't have a remote either. I don't think I can get one for my camera as it is only a compact. Anybody got tips for make shift tripods or tips for taking self timer shots?

Pleats and stripes.

 Blazer - Vintage
Hoodie - New Look
Top -  Evans
Skirt - River Island
Shoes - New Look

This is what I wore to go see Wreck it Ralph at the cinema last week. I forgot that it was a film actually aimed at children so was surprised to see so many of them on a Friday night at the cinema haha! I can't say I even saw any other people without children there. I put this in mind of the fact that I am always cold in the cinema. I got the hoodie on offer on the New Look website for £9.99. I have the same hoodie in navy and wanted to get another colour for awhile. These shoes are covered in multicoloured glitter which I found really hard to capture on camera in these dimly lit nights. I really enjoyed Wreck It Ralph although there was a part that I thought was abit much for children to cope with. If you've enjoyed other Pixar films then I recommend you make the trip to the cinema.

Have you seen it yet? Did you enjoy it?

Natural curls and peter pan collars

Jumper - F+F
Top - Dorothy Perkins
Skirt - River Island
Doc Martens - Dr. Martens

A better close up of my Docs and show the colour better

I wore this to a meeting about doing some volunteer work. I thought this was casual and comfy look but when I met my boyfriend later on he asked what I was all dolled up for! My hair is naturally curly but never really having the time to air dry it and with me not being a very neat sleeper (i roll about constantly), then my natural curls do really get a look in anymore. I used to be able to put my hair in two plaits before bed and then in the morning have nice waves, but my hair seemed to have rebelled against me and only curls in a chunk in the middle which just looks odd so straighteners are normally used. That being said my if my had has been straightened and I plait it, there will be nice waves in the morning. Maybe it's just got too used to straighteners. This is my hair being dried with a hairdryer and twisting each section. I am a little bit smitten with this outfit and wore it again today when I went on a shopping trip to Glasgow, except I wore my black studded boots as I knew I would be trying things on and the docs take too long for me to take on and off.

Nails : Ciaté Paint Pots - Purple Sherbet
Nails Inc - Glamour Glitter
Ring - Pandora

I got both of these polishes as freebies in different magazines. I am a freebie junkie, only if I think its a good thing to get free of course. We won't talk about the times I have bought the same magazine several times to get the other products that month. The ring I bought with some money I got for my 21st birthday last year.

Satchel - LYDC
Socks - a Christmas present from last year
Tights - Debenhams

I don't know if my cupcake obsession has come through on this blog yet but to put it simply it is just that an obsession! I thought I would include some cupcake themed items I have. The satchel was found last year in shop Edinburgh that I have no idea what it was called and it isn't there anymore. I've seen this bag on sale other places but the strap has LYDC all over it and mine is just a plain brown strap which I much prefer. When I was taking these photos my labradoodle Jake was all excited for some unknown reason and we managed to catch this photo of him. He normally only takes a good photo when asleep, so thought I would share this rare gem.

After my trip to Glasgow today and going round the various markets, one being a continential market, I'm starting to feel all Christmassy. I can't wait for all the lights and trees. I think my favourite thing is all the lights everywhere, and of course the Christmas sales ;)

Are you looking forward to Christmas yet or is it still too early?
