The Rabbit and The Wolf

Dress - Threads
Jacket - TU
Bag - H! By Henry Holland
Boots - Topshop
Necklace - H&M

This is what I wore for a night out for a 21st birthday. I found this dress on sale rail in Debenhams naturally being drawn in by the collar. I've never heard of the brand Threads before nor can I find any information about them. It makes me wonder if it had been abandoned in the back for awhile and now the brand doesn't exist which is a real shame because the I love everything about this dress. Surprisingly I found the jacket in Sainsburys for half price, I wasn't even in the market for a new leather (well, PU leather) jacket made me realise how battered the one I've been wearing since I was 18 was. I had been on the hunt for some more casual heels when I came across these boots, again on sale, even though they don't have much of a heel the platform adds that extra bit of height I was after. Now that I think about it the only full price item was the necklace, at £3.99 it wasn't exactly breaking the bank.

Moondust

 Dress - Coast
Cardigan - Principles
Shoes - Schuh

There's something about about Coast dresses that I always love but never anywhere fancy enough to wear the beautiful occasion dresses, and normally more than I'm willing to pay for a dress I won't wear often. I came across this dress last summer it was originally £95 and I think it was on sale for about £28. A good bargain when you think about it. This dress originally had full length sleeves, unfortunately something that does not suit me but I was too in love with the way the dress fitted and moved to leave it behind. Off the sleeves came. I just love how the skirt swishes about, which you can probably tell by these photos. Despite how much I love it I don't wear it enough because the cut out give me a bit of a ridiculous cleavage that I can only get away with for a night out. I keep meaning to get some sheer fabric to put in the cutouts so that I can get away with taking it on daytime outing. The cardigan was one of those things that I picked up when looking for wedding outfit before I had a dress. Black and cropped I thought it was a safe bet and something that I could wear again.

Wedding

 Dress - Oasis
Headband - Crown and Glory
Shoes - Topshop
Bag - New Look

In the seven years I've been with my boyfriend Raymond, we've had never been invited to a wedding before, which is shocking considering he's one of those people that knows hundreds of people. Raymond has been friends with the groom since school so he was invited to the whole day and as he was asked to be the official wedding photographer, I only went to the reception rather than the whole day. I would've probably ended up on my own most of the day while he was busy as I only knew the groom and no one else attending. Shy girl problems.

Anyway as I was only going to the reception I wanted to get a dress that I could wear again. Before even finding a dress I decided that a wedding is the perfect excuse to crack out the an item from my crown and glory collection. For a girl who likes a good excuse to dress up the search for the dress was took a very long time. I ended up taking a chance and ordering this Oasis dress, they seem to occasionally have selected items in size 18 (wish they would just go up to an 18 in every item), it did fit but just needed some shaper tights underneath to make things smoother. I used this as the perfect excuse to go buy new shoes and a bag, who wouldn't?! The best buy were the shoes originally £46 then reduced in the sale but they had black scuffs all over them, I knew they would come off so after asking at the till I got them for £13.50 in the end. We had a lovely time even if we didn't manage to do much dancing as we left before people had enough drinks to break out the move on the dance floor.

Strange Kinda' Nothing

Dress - Red Herring
Cardigan - Dorothy Perkins
Necklace - Accessorize
Watch - Floozie by Frost French
Shoes - Office

Here we have my first proper outfit post in about a year and not quite sure how that's happened! My plans for posting more often haven't went very well! I have a little backlog of photos to work through so I will get those up soon. These photos were taken in June despite the sun peaking through there was still a slight nip in the wind so the tights were still on. This was the first outing for the dress that had been hanging unloved since it's purchase in the sale many months ago. I'm not usually drawn to insect prints but these little dragonflies are subtle yet are colourful plus the dress was my favourite style. The jewellery both remind me of Kate Spade items that I'm forever lusting over which are very out of my price range, These are are filling that Kate Spade void nicely and were obviously much much cheaper.

Cherry Lips

Dress - Dorothy Perkins
Shoes - Asos
Floral Crown - Crown and Glory

I've always loved vintage inspired cherry printed dresses with full skirts, sadly they are either very much out of my price range and truthfully I wouldn't really wear them unless I had a special occasion. To my annoyance I don't get many excuses to wear a fancy dresses. When I spotted this on the website I had it bookmarked immediately until DP dropped one of their promo codes that often appear in my inbox. It's casual enough to wear in daytime or dressed up with the heels. The neckline is flattering for us bigger busted ladies and this style is available in many colours and prints. Although it doesn't look like I have spent loads of time in the sun this summer with the factor 50 on of course, I still remain paler than pale on camera.

I added my Burgundy floral crown as I do love an opportunity to co-ordinate and my strawberry wedges from the Asos sale a few years ago to give me some height. The necklace was a present from the boyfriend. I didn't realise I had unconsciously went with a fruity theme! I want to add more fruit prints to my wardrobe as they are always colourful and fun.

Get up, wipe the smoke from your eyes

 Dress - Asos
Jumper - Dorothy Perkins
 Dr Martens - Charity shop
Collar Clips - Ladybird Likes
Bag - Electric Daisy

Last week I shot some photos for my guest post Scots Bloggers which you can see here. This was the casual look and it was my favourite out of the three ways I styled this dress. I'm sure I've featured all these items so there isn't much to say except to mention my bargain of the century £4 Dr Martens. I persistant to wear them even though they give my blisters from them. It might be to do with that that are shaped to someone else's feet despite not even looking like they had been worn outside when I got them Luckiest find ever in a charity shop! The bag is from a local independent shop a few years ago. I love this jumper with this dress, particularly the red collar against the black jumper. The little red nose of the cat face ties it all together. The heart collar clips also match the little heart nose.

What's been your luckiest charity shop find?

Oh well, I used to be a dancer.

Dress - H! by Henry Holland
Cardigan - New Look

I wore this out to a night out but recreated what I wore a few days later as didn't have time to take photos before. I first found the top version of this dress. It had added cap sleeves and a collar, sadly the fit was odd due to where the sleeves finished. Said times. Then I found this dress in the sale some weeks later, I tried it on and it looked nice but I didn't think it was worth the £20 tag, when it isn't a dress you could get away with in daytime and it's short length, back it went on the rails. Another few weeks went by and I came across the dress again but it was now £12 I tried it back on and had was wearing tights this time and it looked much better although the lower price most likely swayed me on that one! I do wish it had the collar like the top did but you can't have everything.

Necklace - Dorothy Perkins
Bag & Ring - Accessorize
Shoes - Schuh

I was looking for a necklace to go with this dress one that wouldn't catch on the fine lace, a problem I've experienced before and nearly ruined a dress. It added a little sparkle to the dress and it doesn't seem to show up on the photos. It pains me to pay full price for jewellery these days, by luck this had 20% off. I need to find more excuses to wear these shoes. I've became a heel wimp as I hate to have sore feet and it makes me very grumpy when I do so if I know there will be a walk longer than five minutes then I'll opt for wearing flatter shoes.

Who else is a wimp when it comes to heels?

See if anyone really knows.

Dress - Red Herring
Cardigan - Tu
Brogues - Urban Outfitters
Necklace - Head Full Of Feathers

I had a rare two days off together this week which meant I actually got a weekend for a change, so me and my good friend Claire took the chance to go on a wee adventure to take some photos for each other. She has amazing style and makes me jealous of everything she wears, make sure you check her blog out and have a look at the photos I took for her. I love cherry blossoms and brightly coloured flowers which is why this post is more photo heavy than normal. This park is normally mobbed on a day when the sun keeps peeking out but it was a friday afternoon meaning that most people were at work/school. It was good for us we could snap away without feeling awkward about being watched.

Polka dots are another pattern I'm instantly drawn to along with hearts and stripes, and when the polka dot skater dresses started popping up everywhere it was only a matter of time before one ended up in my wardrobe. It does differ from my other skater dresses with its high neckline and little puff sleeves. I must try to remember to take my cardigan off in the future but it's easy to forgot when Scotland has yet to have any sort of heatwave.

I can't quite remember how I stumbled across Head Full Of Feathers but I'd say most likely through someone's blog. The site is filled with glittery accessories so it was only right that I sent a link of my favourite find to my boyfriend before Christmas. I have worn it many times already but this is the first I have got photos of it. I love wearing it to jazz up a something plain.

It was so lovely to see this garden bright and colourful again after many years of neglect. It was even completely closed off for a long time. There used to be a pond with Koi fish in it but it was still empty although it was clean so maybe it will be filled up again as there is a whole regeneration going on in this park.

Life still sounds like balloons

 Cardigan - Forever 21
Top - Dorothy Perkins
Skirt - New Look

These photos should perhaps be called 'I like looking down to my right'. When I first saw this top it had to come home with me, I knew if I left without it my size would sell out. I'm pretty sure the next time I went in all of the tops were gone. I'd say I made the right move there. I really love the print and collar but it creases so much, even the sleeves. Annoyingly that's always something you discover after you've worn it. It was a bad choice to wear to the cinema, which these photos were taken after as you can probably tell by the creases. The skirt was a bargain find in Belfast at a fiver. I just can say no to a five pound skirt!

 Collar Clips - Ladybird Likes
Brogues - Office

I love Ladybird Likes and can't be on the Etsy page without adding something else to my wishlist. My very lovely friend Claire got me these adorable glitter heart collar clips for my birthday and she didn't even know how much I had wanted them! I was very surprised and I love them! You should really check out Zoe's (creator of Ladybird Likes) blog too.

I fight with the moon on occasion, yeah.

Leather Jacket - Red Herring (very old)
Shirt - River Island
Top - diy
Jeans/Jeggings - M&S
Converse
Necklace - Topshop (old)
Bracelets - Accesorize/Electric Daisy

I thought I'd do a quick outfit post of what I wore to a gig at the Oran Mor the other night to see A Plastic Rose. I really liked this outfit but taking photos post gig and a train ride later isn't the best idea. The quality isn't too great as it was just my little Canon compact camera.

I went off jeans for awhile but when found these jeggings I started to like them again and have bought a few pairs of jeans since mostly from M&S too! Good quality, comfy and around the £20 so ticks all my boxes.
I've always loved a checkered shirt and ones like this made from thicker material are perfect for layering at gigs for me. Easy for tying around my bag when it gets too hot but isn't all creased when you put it back on.
You may or may not be aware of my love for The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, but when my t-shirt I bought wasn't fitting anymore I couldn't face not wearing it so I cut the design out of the t-shirt and ironed it on to a cheap sleeves top. I really want to this with other band tees I have that I don't wear due to the fit. They always come is such odd shapes!

But now that I'm older

 Top - Wallis
Skirt - New Look
Blazer - Vintage
Shoes - Clarks

This is what I wore on for my birthday on Monday. I really loved this outfit but it seemed difficult to photograph due to the stripes as if the top had moved a bit it made things look odd. The skirt was a mere fiver in new look recently and I'm sure I looked at these skirts when they were reduced to a tenner but never found my size in any of the colours. The top was a present and I really love the thinner stripes and the lace at the top and makes it more unusual from other striped tops.

 Necklace - Hannah Zakari
Bow - Crown and Glory

I have always loved lighting bolt shapes and back in my days of youth I wore two lighting bolt necklaces on rotation that were big and bright. I still have them but I wouldn't wear them anymore, so I have always been on the hunt for something abit more subtle. I found this necklace before christmas and I'm sure it was much more than I would pay for a necklace even by an independent maker which is why it never came home but on a recent trip to the Edinburgh store I found it again and it was a much lower price that I was happy to pay. I wanted to find ways to style my hair so I could wear all my lovely Crown and Glory goodies that I won. The one I'm wearing I did buy back in November. This was my first attempt at using a larger bun doughnut and much preferred the outcome despite obviously missing some bits with the kirby grips!

I woke up to a room filled with balloons! My boyfriend had sneaked into my house at 7am to blow them all up himself and refused any help from my mum. I do love birthday surprises! I had a lovely day. We went out for lunch, ate cake and watched Where The Wild Things Are.

What's been your favourite birthday surprise that you've had?
